MPS This Week: Nov. 4-8

Tuesday, which is Election Day, is a day off for students, but staff will be busy with professional development activities. Next week includes the Veterans Day holiday as well as early-release days when we hold parent/guardian conferences. Students react differently as routines change, and this is an especially good time to have extra reading materials around the house to help fill any idle hours.

From Our Photo Albums
We have individual photo albums for each of our schools on the district Facebook page and here is some of what you will find there:
Waddell STEM club students learned from NASA engineers while at Highland Park, fun on Book Character Day.
At Bentley, community meeting raffle winners -- and some of the storybook pumpkins that were submitted to the Verplanck Library's Pumpkin Patch.
Members of the Girl Power group at Bowers display their self esteem portraits; spirit week at Manchester Middle Academy included a red carpet walk.
Above: Manchester Preschool Center students pose with a scarecrow they made; at Keeney, Zumba on Family Fun Night. At left, busy Buckley students.

Need To Pick Up Your Child Early?
It happens -- and we understand. But when it's not an emergency, we ask that parents and guardians who need to pick up their children for dismissal before the end of the school day contact the school at least 30 minutes in advance. This note from Superintended Matt Geary explains this district-wide process.
